Feria de flores

On these days is being celebrating in Medellín “La Feria de las Flores” (Festival of the Flowers), this is an event that makes our city much more touristic and it comes with a lot of competitions, parades, concerts, plays (theatre) and people, not only from this area but also from the country and some foreigners too. This year has been published to bring people from Quito, Lima, Mexico City, Miami and New York. There is a prediction that about 4,500 foreign tourist and 340,000 local tourists will come to Medellín. Around 15,000 million is going to gain the tourism sector.

The festival as a cultural and social event brings many benefits for Medellín but to this gain is added the economic growth that can have this city, because jobs for installation of all these events will increase and all vendors will have better sales, and you have to highlight the international image that has won Medellin by holding in its territory big international events. Therefore, Medellin is open to the world and with good policies can get us out of this violence and we can think about social transformation.

The investment in this city is not going just for private events where the involved people are wealthy, but also it’s going forward the comfort for the ordinary people. There are many families that are employed at this time through trade and tourism.

So the invitation to participate in festival to remember our ancestors, to have a good time, to interact with other people, to see our transformed city and to help those people that have the opportunity to earn a few bucks that they don’t have the rest of the year. I recommend to visit the Botanical Garden with the event "Orchids, birds and flowers," Festival of the trova at Monterrey, antique car parade and the main event the parade of the silleteros, the only thing that I disagree with, is the high prices of the vendors, the drunk people who drive and those who do scandals because the alcohol. I hope the festival fulfills all expectations.

I like to finish doing a little reflection, if we are the hosts let’s conduct ourselves and le’s seek to spend good time with everyone else.
